IAS 1: Basic first aid for effective intervention

Target audience
The IAS 1 training course is aimed at anyone wishing to acquire basic first aid skills to intervene effectively in emergency situations, whether in everyday life, at work or during leisure activities.
Objectives
Participants will learn how to assess emergency situations, perform resuscitation on adults and children, use a defibrillator, and manage various emergency scenarios including heart attacks and strokes.
Course content
The course covers essential techniques such as alerting, self-protection, safety, hygiene, stress management, as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) practices, the use of an AED, and the treatment of various medical emergencies.

Master the basics of first aid with IAS 1 training
The IAS 1 training course is designed to teach the basics of first aid, enabling you to respond effectively to emergencies in everyday life or in the workplace. Available in the cantons of Vaud, Geneva, Fribourg, Neuchâtel./strong>, Valais and Jura, it combines theory and practice to ensure complete mastery of first aid procedures.
On the programme, participants will learn scene assessment to identify potential hazards and ensure their personal protection. The training includes essential techniques such as cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the standby position to stabilise a conscious victim, and the Heimlich manoeuvre to deobstruct the airway. Situations such as open fractures, first-degree burns and state of shock are also covered.
