Course content
The course covers a wide range of skills, including assessment and response to cardiac and brain emergencies, management of acute injury and illness, use of emergency equipment and ethical and legal care of casualties.

IAS 2 training: master advanced first aid for critical emergencies
The IAS 2 training course is an advanced secourism programme designed to manage complex emergency situations. Available in the cantons of Vaud, Geneva, Fribourg, Neuchâtel, Valais and Jura, it teaches in-depth techniques for responding to severe trauma and critical medical emergencies.
Participants will learn trauma management and monitoring vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, as well as use of medical equipment such as tensiometers, cervical collars, and oropharyngeal cannulae. Tools such as the pulse oximeter, intravenous catheter and electrocardiogram (ECG) are introduced to ensure effective management.
Practical scenarios include chest decompression, airway management and coordination with the emergency services. This programme combines theory and practice to prepare you to stabilise casualties while complying with Swiss standards and strengthening your collaboration with healthcare professionals
